This blog title doesn't really make sense at first does it...But let me try & explain it, October is here, am in an 'all black everything' outfit & currently at a happy place in my life. Just got back from a long weekend trip that was amazing, I feel fully recharged and ready to take on the last quarter of the year & all that it has to bring.

Some call it 'Tartan print' but for me, this is a 'Maasai print' because it is widely associated with the 'Maasai' of East Africa. I used a 'Maasai shuka' to make this a ruffle skirt whose design was inspired by the popular Gingham ruffle skirts. I made this skirt a couple of months ago when I needed a 'Kenyan-inspired' outfit to attend the 'Sauti Sol' concert in Berlin (but it has since then lost some inches on the hemline). And in keeping with my 'Valentines Day' theme, I just had to include...

Thrifting always feels like a treasure hunt for me because I never know what am going to find, which make the experience even more exciting. And just like every treasure hunt, there are times that you come out empty handed but of course there are also days that are pretty successful. This whole look is a combination of some of my successful finds that have found a happy place in my wardrobe which will make regular appearances on my Blog, as evident here & here.

If I was a project manager at some construction firm, this is how I would show up at the construction site on Monday morning (in my head of course). An all black outfit or dressing in dark colors in general gives off some sense of authority or seriousness that go a long way in asserting a certain position. Don't you agree?

Who among us doesn't start a new week full of motivation, plans & goals that they have set to achieve. Just like at the beginning of a new year, we all make resolutions, whether it is to eat a bit healthier, drink more water, reply Emails on time, clear what's on your work plan for the week, exercise a little, go to bed a bit earlier, spend less time on social media, read the Bible a bit more or simply to set out your outfit the previous day instead of in the morning when you are already...

'Swing' is a form of American music that was popular in the 1930's & 1940's. The name 'Swing' originates from the 'swing feel' where the emphasis is on the off-beat or weaker pulse in the music. The 'Swing Dance Orchestra' led by Andrej Hermlin performed live in Hamburg last week at the Laeiszhalle & I was honoured to have attended it. This was my first time to ever attend a concert with this genre of music so i did not know what to expect, but i have to admit that i was floored by the...

Almost 10years & €789 millions later, the Elbphilarmonie was officially opened to the public by Hamburg's Mayor, Olaf Scholz. So of course there was no way we were going to wait any longer to see it & all I can say is that the wait was well worth it. It is such an amazing building which has a 82metre long Escalator that takes one through the Concert building. The Plaza, which is the absolute highlight of the building is on the 8th floor & opens up to a round spectacular view of...

Remember when Sanaipei Tande (a Kenyan musician & Radio Host) was once featured on Pulse Magazine in a Slip dress at some Award Show, and everyone (me included) was like, ''Why on earth is she wearing a a nightdress out of the house?'' Well, now I've been forced to eat my words because here I am wearing a Slip dress from my new collection, not once, but in 5 different outfits.
