If there's a dress that should be hanging in every woman's wardrobe, then it should the 'Slip dress'. Actually, this dress hangs already in most women's wardrobes but is mainly worn as an undergarment or in some cases as a 'Negligée'. One of the many reasons why I own several slip dresses, as evident here, is because it can styled in several ways. How you style it depends on which look you are going for (casual or elegant) & also where you are going to (work or out for drinks with friends).

In our everyday lives we encounter constant self-doubt before we embark on & also during any journey or experience. And such journeys include entrepreneurship where you are forced to second-guess every single decision that you make. Somehow there is always a small voice that creates fear & inaction in you by telling you that you cannot 'do it' or that you are doomed to fail.

I can count the number of 'pink' clothing pieces that I own & they are probably less than 5. That's quite surprisingly few for someone who loves bright colors like I do. This dress was a summer thrift find that was slightly too fitted around my bust that I 'adjusted' with a little ingenuity. I usually pair it with a white t-shirt underneath for a casual daytime look but on this evening, I decided to rock it on it's own for 'Date night'.

Flowy dresses are an essential for Summer & this year's Summer sure is hot. So I imagined myself in such a dress with my hair flowing in the wind & enjoying the summer breeze with a fruity cocktail in my hand. But there's a change of plot here, there's no hair flowing in the wind because I just did another 'Big Chop'. It still needs some time taking used to but am loving it especially during this crazy hot weather.

Oh yes am back after a short hiatus here on the Blog, & no, I don't have any concrete excuse for my abscence. Life sometimes just happens & you get completely caught up in it. I felt like wearing a simple midi-skirt so I went ahead & made myself one with this fabric that has been lying around in my Fabric-stash for years. I also made a matching crop top but that will make its 'Blog-appearance' some other time. Hope that you are all well & am glad to be back.

There are many times when we make plans & strategize on how we are going to achieve goals that we had set, but then suddenly something goes wrong somewhere & we are thrown off our 'goal-path'. And in as much as such blows are hard to handle & they make us feel like just throwing in the towel & forgetting all about what we had looked forward to. We somehow wake up on Monday mornings, pick up the pieces that are left & face up to the reality that we just stumbled, but we...

Am pretty late jumping on the 'Gingham' bandwagon as you can see, but better late than never right. I bought this dress earlier this summer off of Ebay but for some reason, never got to wear it. I honestly felt that I was showing too much with the sleeveless arms, short length & a slit too. So, I looked for a fabric with the similar print, added long sleeves to it, a ruffle detail & created an inverted 'envelope' on the slit.

'Women who support each other are confident, generous, visionaries'........Mariela Dabbah This is an exhibition & market founded by Cleopatra Hänsen which aims to bring together talented women who are also business owners to give them an opportunity to showcase their products. It takes place a couple of times in a year & I was able to attend the last one this year for the first time.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my client looking amazing in a custom outfit that I‘ve made for them. But what most people don‘t understand is the amount of time & work that is invested in doing just one outfit of their own design . Right from the beginning from making the appointment, taking measurements, studying the design that they want (usually a photo of an outfit that they‘ve seen on the internet), creating a specific sewing pattern, fabric choice, purchasing of all the...

The weather is acting crazy this summer with the sun shinning one day & raining cats & dogs on the next day, which means that my DIY camel coat is getting lots of use (can't complain about that). I love how long it is which makes it perfect to pair with short dresses when it's warm but rainy too. And the trainers just add to every outfit a casual touch in addition to being very comfortable.
