This is me heading out to my Work's Christmas Party. Only that there's no 'Work Christmas Party' because I work alone & that is not my real hair:-). But if there was ever such a party, this is how I would show up because this outfit sums up my personality (mixing business with pleasure), always ready for business but also full of fun & energy.
'Remain in Light' is originally an album by the American Rock Band 'Talking Heads' which has been covered by 'Angélique Kidjo'. I had the opportunity to sample a bit of the amazing tunes at her live performance in the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg. In her own words, 'it's not cultural appropriation but cultural diversification' as she channels the original beats in her own way by using Afrobeat & a choir to transform the fearful texture of the songs into a soulful warmth. She additionally...
If there's a dress that should be hanging in every woman's wardrobe, then it should the 'Slip dress'. Actually, this dress hangs already in most women's wardrobes but is mainly worn as an undergarment or in some cases as a 'Negligée'. One of the many reasons why I own several slip dresses, as evident here, is because it can styled in several ways. How you style it depends on which look you are going for (casual or elegant) & also where you are going to (work or out for drinks with friends).
In our everyday lives we encounter constant self-doubt before we embark on & also during any journey or experience. This event happened to also coincide with the official launch of 'MyUrbanology', an online platform whose aim is to shine a light on the strengths & strides of people, especially people of color who are doing their thing & positively making an impact not only on the people around them but also online & to...
This blog title doesn't really make sense at first does it...But let me try & explain it, October is here, am in an 'all black everything' outfit & currently at a happy place in my life. Just got back from a long weekend trip that was amazing, I feel fully recharged and ready to take on the last quarter of the year & all that it has to bring.
I can count the number of 'pink' clothing pieces that I own & they are probably less than 5. That's quite surprisingly few for someone who loves bright colors like I do. This dress was a summer thrift find that was slightly too fitted around my bust that I 'adjusted' with a little ingenuity. I usually pair it with a white t-shirt underneath for a casual daytime look but on this evening, I decided to rock it on it's own for 'Date night'.
This is a Subscription box created especially for women with curly hair with specially curated products not only for hair but also for the skin. I ordered the 'Nafrobox Spring Edition' back in May & I have finally managed to film a Product review on my Youtube channel with a special-guest, my daughter. This box is basically a gift to ourselves & we love it & will definitely be gifting ourselves the next edition.
