As we take a bow on 2017, I can’t help but feel grateful. Grateful to God for my life, health, family, talents, business, clients, friends (both old & new), you (my ever faithful readers) & last but not least, for my Blog (a sort of outlet for a passion that burns inside of me). Cheers to 2017 & all that it has brought with it & cheers to 2018 with everything new that it will bring. Am looking forward to it & hope that you will continue with me on this journey that we call...

It's officially sequin season so let's get our favourite pieces out. This sequin skirt is an old purchase which I usually pull out on rare party occasions. But am always very particular about how I style because it is clearly short & sparkly & that is one combination that can come off a bit 'riskay'. So, to tone things down, I wore it with an oversize white button down shirt which adds a 'polite' touch to the outfit with it’s crispyness.

On an invitation from 'Power4Brands', a PR Firm based here in Hamburg, I attended the Press Day 'Spring meets X-mas' for the Brand 'Orsay' which was showcasing their newest Spring '18 Collection. The Collection is a mix of asian inspired, modern, pops of colors but also with the basic pieces that every woman always needs in their wardrobe. I personally loved the asian inspired pieces that included a pastel coloured Kimono dress & blouse, & also the mixed print dresses which can be worn...

''Are you sure that you are dressed to go out?'' That’s what Hubby asked me as I stood at the door ready to leave the house. ''Why?'',I replied, pretending not to know what he meant. He went along to 'enlighten' me on the fact that I had on a Pyjama shirt & in his words, ''House slippers'' on🤦🏾‍♀️. Oh well, I actually do love my 'well-thought out' Outfit, otherwise I wouldn’t be sharing it with you guys & putting myself in a ridiculing position, would I.

Have you ever wondered how 'food' in the future should look like? What are the effects that might arise from our current eating habits & especially in view of the ever decreasing natural resources on our planet at the moment? Thrifting always feels like a treasure hunt for me because I never know what am going to find, which make the experience even more exciting. And just like every treasure hunt, there are times that you come out empty handed but of course there are also days that are pretty successful. This whole look is a combination of some of my successful finds that have found a happy place in my wardrobe which will make regular appearances on my Blog, as evident here & here.

Did you get a chance to attend the recently ended 'AUGENBLICKE AFRIKA African Film Festival' here in Hamburg? I wrote a blog about it here & also posted a Vlog on my Youtube Channel. It's amazing to see how much talent there is in the continent as shown by the huge variety of Films that were screened at the Studio Kino. I had the opportunity to interview 'Saliou Waa Gouendoum Sarr' one of the talented Filmmakers whose Film 'Life Saaraba Illegal' was screened at the Festival, . A documentary...

''Let's Wrap things up'' is the most befitting advice that I always try to give my brain because it somehow never stops coming up with new ideas. And no, am not complaining about the fact that creativity runs in my blood, but sometimes I think it gets a bit out of hand. For example, after a long work day at work, then coming home & taking care of the family, I just want to lie on the sofa & simply chill out. Not plan anything, write down any new ideas, think about my next blogpost, come...

There are so many new & amazing films that are made every day in Africa which unfortunately never get the attention & exposure that they deserve, especially here in the Diaspora. This is where the yearly 'AUGEN BLICKE AFRIKA-African Film Festival in Hamburg' comes into the picture as it tries to close this gap by not only shinning a light on these wonderful films & filmmakers, but also bringing together Africans & friends of Africans here in Germany too to meet & talk about...

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my client looking amazing in a custom outfit that I‘ve made for them. But what most people don‘t understand is the amount of time & work that is invested in doing just one outfit of their own design . Right from the beginning from making the appointment, taking measurements, studying the design that they want (usually a photo of an outfit that they‘ve seen on the internet), creating a specific sewing pattern, fabric choice, purchasing of all the...
