A love story between 2 Kenyan girls in a society that does not recognise same sex relationship is what this film is all about. 'Rafiki' means 'Friends' in Swahili & that's exactly how the relationship between the 2 starts. This is the first Kenyan film to ever be screened at the 'Cannes Film Festival', a film that was banned in it's own country of origin (the ban was lifted for 7 days to allow the public to watch the film after it created waves in Cannes). 'Rafiki' was one of the many films...

Growing up back home in Kenya, I remember playing Monopoly with my siblings, it was one of the only indoor games that we owned (the other ones being 'Chess' & 'Snakes & Ladders'). I believe that it was my older brother who got it for us & we really enjoyed 'buying & selling property' in London. Somehow years later, the names 'Waterloo, King Cross Station, Liverpool, Victoria....' are all still stuck in my head & what a experience it was to see & walk through these...

What have you done recently that was out of your comfort zone, or simply something new? I went golfing with a friend...yes, you read it right, Golfing! The 'PWGT 2019', is an annual golfing event organized by 'Provinzperle', an event location & organiser based in Lüneburg for a good cause. It takes place at the the posh St. Dionyser Golf Club. I have never been to a Golf Club before, I mean in Kenya there is one in almost every city but unless you belong to a certain 'class' in the...

We had the opportunity to spend an amazing 8 day Holiday in Korfu (Corfu), a Greek Island in the Ionian Sea. It is the second largest of the Ionian Islands measuring a proper 592,8 square km. We stayed at the 'Robolla Beach Hotel & Apartment' which I can highly recommend especially for families with children because of not only it's facilities but also the hospitality of it's staff. The food, weather & general atmosphere in Korfu was wonderful & even though we did not see much...

Finally, here is the post that I promised some time back on this previous post about my trip to Leipzig over Easter. The weather was just perfect for such a trip & Leipzig did not disappoint at all. For me, Leipzig felt 'truly German', very correct, focused, old-fashioned, strong & full of history. It is a city full of very beautiful historical buildings & sites which need a longer stay in order for one to enjoy all of them. I guess this means that I will probably have to visit it...

Looks who's back! Hi guys! It feels strange typing here, strange but somehow nice, like reconnecting with an old friend after parting ways. You've both changed with time & don't know how to start all over again, but there's a certain feeling of anticipation that comes with experiencing fun & new things together. You both still have fond memories of how good it feels when you are together but at the same time you want to take time to get to know each other again. Somehow like trying to...

I would be lying if I wrote that I travelled to the 'The Hague' just to attend the 'African Women in Europe' annual conference. It was actually a pre-birthday gift to myself & a chance to visit somewhere new, do something different or even meet new people. And I got to do all 3, 'The Hague' is beautiful & is definitely worth another visit.

'You will always be too much for some people. Those are not your people!' Yesterday was my birthday & I am so so thankful for everyone who made it so special. I am so grateful for having each & every one of you in my life....Thank you! The past few weeks have been tough-physically & emotionally, but I am still here, standing strong & with a smile on my face. I don't know how I did it but I managed to achieve quite a few goals that I had set out for myself & for that, I am...

I should already be in bed by now but here I am, wide awake as I type this special Blogpost. It's not just any normal day for me because my baby boy is turning 5 years today. Typing it makes it feel even more real & maybe reading this a couple of times will help me get used to the idea that I have a 5 year old son! Going through the photos & videos that I've made of him through the years bring back such beautiful memories which in turn make me feel so grateful to have him in my...

I think that I am experiencing a 'Writer's Block' at the moment, not because I am at a loss of words or that I don't have anything to write about (knowing myself, that is almost impossible), but it's because my mind, emotions & feelings are completely in jumbles at the moment. So instead of writing something that makes absolutely no sense to you guys, I thought that it would be better for me to take a step back, re-examine myself & use the chance to re-introduce myself to you & also...
